A name, not an invitation

What did you come here expecting to be told?
You found a name. That is not the same as being invited, and it is not the same as an answer.
The red wingRemembers what it was never asked to forgive. What did you already decide it was guilty of?
The green wingWithholds. Is secrecy the same thing as a lie, or only a refusal of your timing?
Where is the house?
If it will not give you a hearth, was it ever a place — or did you only need it to be one?
What does the work actually do?
What would you trust less: a business with no menu, or a menu that pretended to be the whole of it?
Who is allowed to know the line?
If the living are not listed, what were you hoping a list would prove?
Why a bird with two colors?
Were you told one wing was loyalty and the other was threat? Who chose those words for you?
Left where you might see them
There are marks in this house that do not introduce themselves. They prefer patience to a glance. There is a difference.
